Tickets: Go on sale when the Grandstands open at 5:30
• Adults $10
• Students (ages 6-17) $5
• Children (ages 5 & under) FREE
Concessions: open until the bus races are over
After the races: Music in the Beer Garden at 9pm

The Bus Races rained out last year and it feels like it’s been forever since we’ve held them! I’m excited to be a part of City of Ada, Minnesota’s 150th Birthday Celebration and to be having the Bus Races this year!
What makes the Norman County Raceway Bus Races so special is that while of course it is fun to see buses race on a race track, we’ve modeled our bus races after the Model T races of the past and there are these “activities” before and between the laps raced. I was so lucky to be able to sit down with Leon Johnson many years ago and he told me all about them. One year I based every activity off of what he told me from the wearing of dresses to the oiled pigs to the “beer” being drank from baby bottles and more. It’s been fun thinking back to the things we’ve done in the past like racing scooters, riding inflatable stick horses, eating watermelon, the pools of straw, the pools of water, the boat races, the slide, grocery shopping, bird feeders….so many activities! This year Ada turned 150 and I sure do love a good birthday party! 🥳
I hope a ton of people come out for the FREE WILL DONATION SUPPER at Norman County Raceway concession stand from 5:00-6:30. The proceeds go to fairground improvements. We are fortunate to have such a beautiful fairgrounds in our community but of course there improvements needed and big plans for new additions to the fairgrounds! If you can’t make the supper, you can always make a donation to the Norman County Ag Society!
In conjunction with Ada’s 150th Celebration there will be music in the beer gardens after the bus races. It’s going to be a great evening!
